A symbol of love and virility in Southeast Asia
The koi, a variety of carp, is an ornamental fish from Asia. This very popular fish is bred in China, Korea, Japan, and Vietnam. It was created by selecting and crossing different-coloured specimens: red, white, yellow, black etc. Certain colours are very sought after by collectors, and reach very high prices despite only being barely two-years-old. In Southeast Asia, the koi is the symbol of love and virility.
