Helicopter parents

The Discus is a tropical freshwater fish from the Cichlidae family. One of their characteristics can be observed during reproduction - the female place the eggs on a vertical object then the male fertilises them. Then both parents ventilate the eggs with their pectoral fins to prevent them from going mouldy. When they hatch, the young eat the substance secreted by their parents on their bodies for about ten days.
